Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data the FREE Publishing website processes, why, and what rights you have.

Who is responsible

The data controller is Asociația Literati, which runs FREE Publishing (Editura FREE), with its registered office at Republicii 202, 105700 Comarnic, Prahova County, Romania. You can reach us at any time through the contact form.

What data we process

When you read the site. You do not need an account to browse the catalogue or download a book, and we do not ask you for any data. Like any web server, the server hosting the site automatically logs the IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. These logs keep the site running and secure, and the hosting provider keeps them for a limited period.

When you write to us through the contact form. We process your name, email address, subject and message, only in order to reply to you. The message is kept in the site's administration area and sent to us by email. We keep it for as long as we need to reply and to keep a record of the correspondence, and then delete it.

We do not use your data for advertising, we do not profile you, and we do not sell or rent data to anyone.

Legal basis

Replying to messages and keeping the site secure rest on our legitimate interest in communicating with readers and authors and in keeping the site working (Article 6(1)(f) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the GDPR). Where a message concerns a collaboration or a publication, processing is necessary to take the steps you asked for (Article 6(1)(b)).

Who else can see the data

Only the members of the press who handle correspondence, and the providers who help us technically: the website host and the email service provider. They process the data only on our instructions. If a provider is located outside the European Economic Area, the transfer is made with the safeguards required by the GDPR.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict processing, to object, and to data portability. To exercise any of them, write to us through the contact form. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP (www.dataprotection.ro).

Cookies

Our use of cookies is described in the Cookie Policy.

Changes

We may update this policy when the way the site works changes. The version in force is always the one published on this page.
